Local Group PATRASA Receive £1,000 from Aberystwyth Business Club

At a recent Club meeting, Aberystwyth Business Club presented a cheque for £1,000 to PATRASA (The Penrhyncoch and Trefeurig Recreation and Sport Association). Representatives from PATRASA attended the meeting to give a short talk to the members on how the funds would be used.

“PATRASA would like to thank Aberystwyth Business Club for their kind contribution towards our fundraising efforts.” saidClare Larke, PATRASA Committee Member. “The £1,000 donated will allow PATRASA to put on 'Party in the Park' under a marquee.  This is a significant event in our fundraising calendar which has been cancelled due to bad weather for the past 2 years - The marquee will ensure that the event can go ahead whatever the weather.  Monies raised from this event will be spent on new equipment to improve the play area.” she continued.

The Business Club is inviting local organisations to apply for financial support before its next meeting on 12th February 2018 – “As a Business Club we have supported over 50 organisations with funds totalling over £125,000. Funding can be for small amounts too. Sometimes even a donation of £100 can make a real difference to the community.” – said Eddy Webb (Chair)

Applications can be made online here and need to be submitted by 12th February 2018.

Three More Organisations benefit from Aberystwyth Business Club Support

Formed in 1998, the Aberystwyth Business Club is a dynamic and active group of passionate business people who operate in Aberystwyth. The Club has given funds totalling over £125,000 to more than 50 charitable causes.

At the Club’s Annual General Meeting held on 12th July 2017, three more organisations were supported by the Club. The recipients attended the meeting to give a short talk to the members on how the funds would be used.

Aberystwyth Basketball Club received a cheque for £1,200 to pay for a specialised sport wheelchair. “A massive thanks to the Aberystwyth Business Club for the cheque because it's one of our biggest overheads and it is such an asset now to have another wheelchair” said Lee Coulson of Aberystwyth Basketball Club.

Aberystwyth 3rd Scouts were delighted and grateful to receive a cheque for £500 to pay towards repairs to their hut.

Finally, Mes Bach Child Care had their activities boosted by a donation of £300 to help provide more opportunities for the children in the community through trips and activities.

Eddy Webb, Chair of Aberystwyth Business Club encouraged business people in the town to join the club and also for organisations to request support – “The Club does great work in the community, which in the past has not been widely known or recognised. In addition it provides a fantastic network for business people in Aberystwyth. We would love to hear from prospective new members and organisations wanting our support.”

21/1/17 Business Club Social Trip

Some members of the Aberystwyth Business Club enjoyed an away social trip to Cardiff. This included a visit to the Royal Mint where we 'minted' our own new £1 coin, an excellent meal in Le Monde and an overnight stay in the Angel Hotel. Lots of networking and a great time! Thanks to Cambria Tours for organising.
